Life Skills in Recovery
We Help You Prepare for Life After Addiction Treatment
At Midas Rehab teaching Life Skills is all about providing our clients with tools for success after drug and alchohol treatment. This promotes long term recovery and the ability to be self-sufficient. Abstaining from substances is difficult enough, Midas Rehab strives to make everything else in life a little easier to deal with after treatment.
At Midas we do not provide a private chef, but we do offer a registered dietitian to educate clients about nutrition. Treatment is not about being catered to, but about preparing clients to re-enter society equipped with tools for success in all aspects. Food education is very important. We prioritize nourishing our bodies and understanding how to do so.
Meal plans are chosen by clients. We ask you what you want to eat. We budget together to plan meals. Meals are prepared by staff and clients together. Clients are taught how to prepare meals for themselves. Clients leave treatment understanding how to budget for grocery shopping, plan out meals, prepare meals, and clean up after cooking. While these skills may seem basic, having an organized understanding of how to take care of oneself makes life easier.
Educating clients about credit and how it works, helping them learn to manage their credit, and ensuring they understand how credit can benefit them is a major tool for empowerment that Midas provides clients. Clients privately learn how to access their individual credit scores, are taught how their individual scores can improve, and strategize how to build and improve their credit after treatment. This is of course optional, but we highly courage clients to empower themselves through improved credit and thus increased opportunities.
Leaving treatment with a properly built resume is a major tool for continued recovery. Midas understands that when life gets tough, relapse is more likely to occur. Preparing clients for financial stability via stable employment is another step Midas takes in helping clients.
Every individual who comes to Midas has a different and unique set of needs. When a client leaving our care is going to need to get a job, we do all we can to support that goal. This means ensuring they have proper clothing to wear to an interview, we coach them on how to answer interview questions, and role play to get the client comfortable and prepared for interviews. We help clients strategize what jobs they should apply for, assist clients with applying for jobs, provide transportation to job interviews, and more.
Midas has established and maintains relationships with local businesses that are willing to employ our clients, regardless of criminal backgrounds.
Our caring team is standing by to help and answer any questions you may have about our approach to addiction treatment with no judgement.
